Good news for books on the African continent. The latest London Book Fair dispatch puts the spotlight on Ugandan publisher, Fountain Publishers, which, after 21 years in business, is set to expand beyond the nation’s borders. The publisher aims to target Southern Sudan, Burundi and Rwanda amongst others. Alistair Burtenshaw reports:
Fountain Publishers, already a highly regarded printer in the country, is to target markets in other east African countries such as Burundi, Rwanda and Southern Sudan, according to New Vision, a Ugandan news service.
The move will be welcomed by many within both the Ugandan and global publishing industries as it will likely only strengthen the development of literacy in east Africa.
