Coetzee to Attend "Is dit JM Coetzee?" Fest and Disgrace Appears in Limited Edition

DisgraceCoetzee MarxThe “Is dit JM Coetzee?” festival takes place from 13-16 May in Amsterdam and features such author-scholars and Coetzeespotters as Elleke Boehmer and David Attwell.

What makes this Coetzee festival different is that the author himself is scheduled to attend. According to the programme, Coetzee will read from unpublished work.

Meanwhile, Harvill Secker has brought out a limited edition of Coetzee’s Disgrace to celebrate their centenary.

Ter viering van zijn zeventigste verjaardag presenteren Uitgeverij Cossee en De Balie een festival over J.M. Coetzee. De schrijver en Nobelprijswinnaar is tijdens dit festival als eregast aanwezig.

Alle middelen worden ingezet om schrijver, werk en wereldbeeld te duiden. Zo brengen we naast een bijzondere serie programma’s in De Balie, de voorstelling Braakland van Compagnie Dakar op een lapje braakliggende grond aan de rand van Amsterdam. Deze voorstelling in de regie van Lotte van den Berg heeft de hele wereld rondgereisd en beleeft nu zijn Amsterdamse première.

To celebrate his seventieth birthday present and De Balie Publishers Cossee a festival on JM Coetzee. The writer and Nobel laureate during this festival as guest of honor.

All means are employed to author, work and worldview to interpret. So we bring in addition to a series of special programs in De Balie, the show Fallows of Compagnie Dakar on a patch of derelict land on the outskirts of Amsterdam. This version directed by Lotte van den Berg has traveled around the world and are now experiencing Amsterdam premiere.
