Anne Schuster: A Tribute and Send Off at Kalk Bay Books

Anne Schuster

Foolish DelusionsAlert! Anne Schuster, the writer and mentor who has helped many South African women get started as wordsmiths, is leaving the Cape Town literary scene for a more contemplative life in Kleinmond – where she will continue with her writing workshops, but on a more limited basis.

Kalk Bay Books hosted a send-off for Schuster last week, and BOOK SA was there to catch a few snaps and join the toasts.

Here’s an appreciation of Schuster, plus a “bibliography” of sorts, from Maire Fisher and Christine Coates:

How did I miss this? So glad to see this celebration of Annie's immense generosity -- and every best wish for tranquility in Kleinmond.

@Helen It was organised by her writing group members, Helen - a great celebration of her wonderful work!
@Liesl - would have been great if you could have been there, Liesl. Thanks so much for getting the pics organised.
@Ben - many thanks for putting this up Ben - seeing the list of women who have been in Anne's groups and who have been published or gone further with their writing is up there makes for impressive reading!
