Bookshelf Porn: Primo Quarto By Giuseppe Viganò For Saba Italia
Special to Books LIVE by Mandy J Watson
Bookshelf Porn is a new series of posts that I will be writing that highlights bookshelves, bookcases, libraries, furniture designers, and items related to storing and displaying books.
The eye-catching Primo Quarto bookcase was designed by Giuseppe Viganò and unveiled as part of the Saba Italia 2010 Collection, which included chairs, couches, and tables. The shape of the bookcase represents the arched line of the waxing moon, hence the name, which translated means “first quarter”.
There are two versions of the bookcase, a large and small, although unfortunately they aren’t modular. However, for those with more minimalist homes who are struggling to display their books elegantly Primo Quarto might be suitable. Not only is the form beautiful but unlike many designer bookcases these ones can hold quite a few books.
