There is nothing as marvellous as watching pictures of rugby – be they still photographs in newspapers and magazines, or television footage of the players on the field – the eye enjoys the poetry in action. This especially so when the Rugby World Cup is around the corner.
Coming from a rugby province – Eastern Cape – I know exactly what I am talking about. In this home of the Bulldogs and the EP Kings and, closer to home for me, Winter Rose and Swallows in Mdantsane, the former Leopards (Black Springboks), KwaZakhele Rugby Union (Kwaru) and rural Berlin clubs like Morning Stars, Destroyers and Lilly White.
