Melville Poetry Festival 2012 Programme (12 – 14 October)

 
The second annual Melville Poetry Festival takes place this weekend from Friday 12 October to Sunday 14 October. Various poets, including Books LIVE members Phillippa Yaa de Villiers, Kobus Moolman, Loftus Marais, Arja Salafranca, Peter Horn, Charl-Pierre Naude, Johann Lodewyk Marais and De Waal Venter will take part in the festival events.

The theme for this year’s festival is “It’s more than words”. Besides poetry readings, discussions and open microphone sessions, the festival will also feature exhibitions by artists such as Willem Boshoff, Strijdom van der Merwe and Diek Grobler, as well as musical performances by Toast Coetzer’s Buckfever Underground and DJ Charles Leonard.

The festival will take place at various venues along 7th Street in Melville, including Buzz 9, Lucky Bean, IT Corner, 76 on 4th, Studio Gesso, Love and Revolution, Melon Restaurant and Bambanani restaurant.
