How to Download Little White Bakkie eBooks onto the Kobo Touch eReader

Pick ‘n Pay have teamed up with Kobo to bring their Kobo Touch eReaders to South Africa, and Ben Williams attended the launch yesterday and shared his thoughts on the device.

Little White Bakkie stocks the latest local titles which can be read on the Kobo Touch using your Adobe ID and Adobe Digital Editions software, both of which are free. You will also be able to download any eBooks already in your Digital Editions library onto the reader. Kobo have shared a helpful FAQ which explains how to download eBooks using Digital Editions:

How do I use Digital Editions with my Kobo eReader?

The only times you need to use Digital Editions are when you want to read:

  • eBooks from another store or from a library – including your Little White Bakkie eBooks
  • Adobe DRM PDFs from the Kobo Store?

To use Digital Editions with your Kobo eReader, you must:

  • Authorize your eReader with Adobe.
  • Add books to your eReader using Digital Editions.

To authorize your eReader:

  • Connect your Kobo eReader to your computer and select Manage Library.
  • Start Digital Editions.
  • If you were already using Digital Editions, restart it so that it will find your eReader and start the Device Setup Assistant.
  • Click Authorize Device.
  • Click Finished to complete the process.
  • Your eReader will now be listed as one of your Bookshelves in Digital Editions.

You can drag books from your Digital Editions library to the eReader icon to copy them to your eReader.
