UCT Summer School: Heyns, Dowling, Coovadia, Omotoso and Rose-Innes to Discuss Favourite Reads

As part of UCT’s Summer School programme, run by the Centre for Open Learning, Michiel Heyns, Finuala Dowling, Imraan Coovadia, Yewande Omotoso and Henrietta Rose-Innes will be presenting a course on books they’ve recently enjoyed reading.

Heyns will discuss Damon Galgut’s 2010 Man Booker Prize shortlisted novel In a Strange Room, Dowling will talk about Ingrid de Kok’s poetry collection Other Signs, Coovadia will consider Victor Pelevin’s The Sacred Book of the Werewolf, Omotoso will reflect on Diana Evans’ 26a and Rose-Innes will explore two-time Booker Prize winner Hilary Mantel‘s earlier novel Beyond Black.

Registration is now open for the course and will be processed on a first-come first-served basis. The course will be presented from 28 January to 1 February 2013 and costs R350, but UCT staff members pay R175 and students can attend for the reduced rate of R88.
