Njabulo Ndebele Elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory

Alert! Njabulo Ndebele has been unanimously elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory. Ndebele has been the Acting Chairman since November last year, after Professor Jakes Gerwel passed away. Ndebele is currently the Chairman of the Mandela Rhodes Foundation, a sister organisation to the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory.

The decision was announced at outgoing CEO Achmat Dangor’s farewell, with Dangor’s successor, Sello Hatang, also being welcomed at the event. Ndebele said that he is “proud to assume the role as chairman of the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory into the future” and that he has no doubts about the ability of the Foundation to be the “go-to organisation on the life and times of Nelson Mandela”.
