Margaret von Klemperer Reviews Water Music by Margie Orford

Water MusicVerdict: carrot

Water Music is the fifth outing for Margie Orford’s Dr Clare Hart, one of the most interesting of local detectives, as well as being one whose detecting is always complicated by her private life.
That side of things is even more difficult this time round, with decisions for Clare to make. But I don’t want to give away secrets here, so let’s stick to the detecting aspects. Clare is called in when an unconscious, emaciated little girl is found tied to a tree in a cold, wet winter’s dawn on an Orange Kloof bridle path in Cape Town.
