North American Rights to Margie Orford’s Clare Hart Crime Fiction Series Sold to Witness Impulse, HarperCollins
Alert! Margaux Weisman of Witness Impulse, an imprint of William Morrow/HarperCollins, has acquired the US rights to Margie Orford’s series of crime novels featuring investigative journalist turned profiler Clare Hart.
The rights to all five of the Clare Hart-books, Daddy’s Girl, Like Clockwork, Blood Rose, Gallows Hill and Water Music, published in South Africa by Jonathan Ball Publishers, have been snapped up by Witness Impulse, a new digital mystery, suspense, and thriller line. Weisman said, “Dr. Clare Hart is one of the strongest thriller heroines I’ve encountered, and I’m so happy to introduce her to a US audience”.
Earlier this year, the UK rights to the Clare Hart-series were acquired by Head of Zeus in the UK. Isobel Dixon of Blake Friedman, who brokered both deals, shared the latest news on the agency’s website:
