Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Americanah Shortlisted for the 2014 National Book Critics Circle Award

AmericanahAlert! Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel Americanah has been announced as a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in the fiction category. The NBCC Award honours the best literature published in the United States in six categories – autobiography, biography, criticism, fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. It is the only national American award chosen by critics themselves.

Laurie Muchnick, NBCC president, broke the news on Twitter, naming all five fiction shortlistees:

The finalists will read from their work on 12 March and the winner will be announced at a ceremony on 13 March at The New School in New York. Congratulations to Adichie!
