President Jacob Zuma Announces Date for the 2014 General Elections

President Jacob Zuma announced today that the fifth national general elections will be held on 7 May 2014. In his statement he notes that, “these are historic elections as they take place during the 20th anniversary of our freedom from apartheid bondage.” If you have not yet registered to vote then this weekend, 8 and 9 February, is your last chance to do so.

Fellow South Africans,

The electoral term of the present government will come to an end on the 22nd of April.

We are very proud of the manner in which we adhere to constitutional and democratic processes in our country.
