Varsha Lalla Reviews The Three by Sarah Lotz

The ThreeVerdict: carrot

South African author Sarah Lotz has created a masterpiece in this suspenseful, chilling and sometimes horrific story. Unlike many thriller writers, Lotz doesn’t delve into the gruesome. Rather it’s an intricately written story that looks at human nature’s ability to create fear and mayhem.

The Three is about four plane crashes that occur within hours of each other on different continents. The world is left stunned while officials scramble to find the causes for the accidents. There is no evidence of foul play or terrorist activities and there doesn’t seem to be any correlation between the crashes; except for one. In three out of the four plane crashes, one child survived in each, in an event in which death was a certainty.
