Rough Ghosts Reviews The Impostor by Damon Galgut

The ImpostorVerdict: carrot

Damon Galgut is decidedly unafraid to tackle the shifting landscape of political and economic power in his own country post-apartheid and show how easily the ordinary, average individual can get swept up in situations they have neither the awareness or the initiative to appreciate. Someone like Adam Napier in The Impostor, a man who discovers, too late, that his very unimportance makes him expendable in a game he didn’t realize he was playing. Or did he just not care enough to take notice?
