South African audiobooks now available from Audioshelf – Plus: Listen to an excerpt from Jo-Anne Richards’s The Imagined Child


Good news for those who enjoy reading by ear – Audioshelf, an audiobook publishing company based in Cape Town, is starting to produce audiobooks of South African novels and short stories.

The company is producing titles for Pan Macmillan, and is also working in partnership with Talking Bookz from Nigeria to produce a few titles from Modjaji Books.

Current audiobook releases include:

Mystical Realms – a short story by ZP Dala, author of What About Meera
The Black Goat – a short story by Des Maxwell
Shadows – by Joan De La Haye
Jack of All Trades – Jack Mudd

Upcoming releases include Green Margie and the Starlight by Megan Furniss and Langbourne by Alan Landau.

Modjaji titles in the pipeline include To the Black Women We All Knew by Kholofelo Maenetsha and The Blacks of Cape Town by CA Davids.

Audioshelf was recently accepted as an international content supplier to Audible, which distributes to Amazon and iTunes.
